Text Adventure Games You Play in Your Browser
A text adventure is a game told in words: the story describes a scene, you decide what to do, and the next scene answers. Every Wimbook book works this way in your browser. Each scene ends with three moves you can pick, or you can type a move of your own, and Chapter I of every book is free with no account and no download.
These are story-first text games rather than puzzle games: you play the main character of an illustrated novel in romance, romantasy, mystery, fantasy or sci-fi, the characters remember what you did, and the ending is written from the path you took.

Text Adventure Games You Play in Your Browser: questions and answers
Do I have to type commands like in Zork?
No. You can play every scene by picking one of three moves. Typing your own move is there when none of the options fit, and you can write it in plain words.
Is this the same as a CYOA?
Close. A CYOA story branches on a few choices; a text adventure lets you act in your own words. Wimbook does both: three choices in every scene, or your own typed move.
Are these stories free to read?
Yes, Chapter I of every book is free, with no account and nothing to download. The chapters after it are written live around your choices and come with a plan.
How do the choices work?
Every scene ends with three moves you can pick. You can also type your own move, and the next scene is written around it. The characters remember what you did.
